Please read this policy in order that you fully understand the terms and conditions under which we use the information we gather from you through the use of our website (“Website”) and services (“Services”), and together referred to as (“Navigator Services”).
1. Navigator’s Collection of Information
In order to better provide you with Navigator Services, we collect two types of information about our customers and potential customers: Personal Information and Non-Personal Information. Our primary goal in collecting information from you is to provide you with a smooth and efficient experience while using Navigator Services.
Personal Information refers to the specifics of who you are, such as your name, address, telephone number, email address and any other information needed to provide a service to you (including your DNA testing via swab sample and biochemical test results), while using Navigator Services. We gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. We may combine this automatically-collected information with other information we collect about you to improve services, marketing, analytics, or site functionality.
Navigator collects Personal Information when you register for a Navigator account as a customer, potential customer, or guest user, when you use certain Navigator products or services, when you submit a voluntary survey, when you ask to be included in an email or other mailing list (see “Opt-Out Tickbox” below), or when you submit your Personal Information to Navigator for any other reason. We use the Personal Information that we collect to send you information that you have requested, respond to an inquiry, or facilitate the features in Navigator Services as described in this Policy. Navigator only uses such information if it has been collected in accordance with acceptable privacy practices consistent with this Policy.
What Information is collected?
Navigator will collect and process your information: when you register on our Website as a user; when you place an order with us for Goods and/or Services; or when you contact or message Navigator’s information desk.
Navigator collects information on behalf of our customers in order to process the order, provide the Services which predominantly includes DNA testing via swab samples which you provide us in order that we may provide you with a Navigator DNA report and gene counselling, explanation, strategy building and biochemical pathway mapping.
The use of this data is limited to the purpose of providing the service for which our customers have engaged Navigator. We may transfer Personal Information to companies that help us provide our services. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the provisions in this Policy regarding notice and choice and the service agreements with our customers. We acknowledge that you have the right to access your personal information. If the Client requests Navigator to remove the data, we will respond to that request within a reasonable time frame. Navigator will retain personal data we process on behalf of our customers (i) for as long as needed to provide services to our customers and (ii) as long as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Access to certain Navigator Services requires a login and a password. Unless you request deletion of your Personal Information as specified below, your Personal Information may be retained by Navigator to verify compliance with the agreement.
Should we display personal customer endorsements on our Website, we shall do so only with your consent where we post your endorsement with your name. If you wish to update or delete your endorsement, you can contact us at [email protected]
Retention of Data
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Non-Personal Information refers to information that does not by itself identify a specific individual. We gather certain information about you based upon the pages that you access in Navigator Services using various tracking technologies. This information is compiled and analysed on both a non-aggregated and an aggregated basis. (See “Cookies” section below)
i. Special Offers and Updates. We will occasionally send you information on products, services and special promotions. You always have the option to opt-out of receiving these types of communications. Please see “Opt-out Tickbox.”
ii. Newsletters. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication, emailing us at [email protected]
iii. Service Announcements. We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account. Please see “Opt-out Tickbox.”
iv. Customer Service. Based upon the Personal Information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, provide the services you request, and manage your account. We will communicate with you by email or telephone, as per your request.
2. Information share
We do not sell your Personal Information to third parties. Your personal information is never shared outside Navigator without your permission, except under conditions explained below.
Navigator may send your Personal Information to other companies or people under any of the following circumstances: when we have your consent to share the information; we need to share your information to provide the product or service you have requested; we need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of Navigator to provide a product or service to you (we will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose); or we want to keep you up to date on the latest product announcements, special offers or other information we think you’d like to hear about either from us or from our business partners. We will disclose your Personal Information if required to do so by law, or in urgent circumstances, to protect personal safety, the public or Navigator Services. We reserve the right to disclose your Personal Information when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on Navigator Services. If Navigator is involved in any corporate event (for example merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets), you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on Navigator Services of any change in ownership or uses of your Personal Information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your Personal Information.
Opt-out Tick-box. We provide you with the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your Personal Information used for certain purposes when we ask for this information via a tickbox. You can also opt-out at any time by emailing us at [email protected]
3. Personal Information Changes
You have the right to amend or update inaccurate or incomplete personal information, request deletion of your personal information, or request that we no longer use it. Upon request, we will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your personal information. If your Personal Information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update, amend, or delete/remove it by emailing us at [email protected] We will respond to your request within a reasonable time frame.
4. Information Security
We employ industry-standard security measures to protect the security of the information you submit to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. The importance of security for all Personal Information associated with our customers is of utmost concern to us. We rely on password protection and advanced firewall technology for additional protection.
Furthermore, all of the user data we collect is protected against unauthorized access by physical security means. Where possible, we limit access to information to authorized personnel only.
